Just when you think Spring is coming, the weather has to play games. I love that the boys are all dressed for football, then... it gets canceled because of SNOW!!

I scream, You scream
We are mean parents! We don't let our kids have a lot of treats- except for Aryk, 'cause he's our favorite. ;) We made a deal with our kids a LONG time ago, that IF they eat their dinner they can have ONE treat. For example: ONE scoop of Ice Cream.

Ashton and AJ, occasionally ask if they can have an extra scoop of Ice Cream, we tell them if they eat an extra dinner. They both ate a good dinner one night in February, and Ashton asked if he could just eat all the ice cream left in the carton. It was about 2 or 3 scoops, and honestly, we didn't need to keep it in the freezer any longer. Mom thought it was too cold for Ice Cream, so she told him he could eat as much as he wanted, outside on the patio furniture (this was on Feb. 2, mind you.) Mom did tell him to put a coat on. So... AJ got excited, 'cause there was a second carton of ice cream (with A LOT of ice cream still in it), that he wanted to eat! So... same thing- Eat it outside, until you are too cold to eat any more, or finish it off.
Dad warned Mom that these boys would take a challenge like that and stay out, until the Ice Cream was gone. Mom was a little surprised at how long they were willing to stay out. Aryk didn't want to be left out, of course, so he got one scoop in a bowl, his coat, and out he went too. Ashton finished off his carton, Aryk didn't make it through the whole bowl, and AJ made a dent of at least 2 or 3 scoops out of his carton, before they all came in. Way to go boys!
I Scream, You Scream, We ALL scream for Ice Cream!

Sledding with the Youth
In January, one of our Youth Activities was sledding. So I figured it was a good activity to invite the family to join in on. Jeff helped load everything we need for the Youth and the Boys. He's GREAT!! I never could be Young Women's Pres. without him. We head up toward Pearl, Idaho (about 20 minutes north), and found a great snowy hill to have some fun.
Aryk stayed by the fire most of the time. I did take him on a sled for a minute, but we didn't get any pictures of that. He was pretty tired and cold by the end of the three hours.

Gardening?
We have started pulling out our garden. I received a Cabbage starter at Relief Society in the Spring. I've never grown cabbage. We don't really eat cabbage. But I figured "why not?". So I planted it, it grew, it got holes in it, I wondered what parts were good to eat.
When we pulled it out and started taking layers off, we found slugs and Roley-pollies. GROSS! AJ thought it was cool, and actually wanted pictures of insects for a project at school, so we took some pictures. The pictures actually turned out cool, even if they are slugs and insects. Needless to say, the whole thing ended up in the garbage, and we will never know how our cabbage tasted!

Riding Bikes
AJ received a bike for his fourth birthday. He refused to ride with training wheels. But he couldn't balance without them. So he just didn't ride. Then last summer (when he was five) he rode, with training wheels, for a while. Then he wanted his training wheels off again. But still didn't get the balance thing down. So... this summer (almost six) he thought that if he tried Ashton's old bike, he would get it.
Jeff spent some time with him one rainy morning. And... he got it!

Jeff showing AJ how it's done.
So now, AJ rides Ashton's old bike. His bike is hanging in the garage for Aryk, and Ashton has a new/ used bike.
Aryk wishes he was big enough to ride too.
But he does okay with his toy rocket!

Let's Go Fly a Kite!
We have definitely had a windy March! Ashton and Aryk and I had some free time, so we went out to fly a kite.
Aryk enjoyed watching for a little while. Then he enjoyed ripping up the grass and trying to eat it.
Ashton liked flying the kite, as long as it was in the air.
But as soon as it fell, he thought it was time to be done.
Needless to say, I did more kite flying than him. But because I was holding the kite, and Ashton was playing ball, there aren't any of those pics. AJ and I went out a little later to fly the kite, since he missed out on the afternoon fun. I didn't get any of those pics either.

Last Soccer Game
Ashton and AJ had their last soccer game today. It was great!
trying to be as fast as a Superhero! He even kicked the ball a few times!
He played goalie for a couple of the quarters. He did really well.
Here's Grandma Likes holding Aryk while cheering for Ashton and AJ.
Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Nicole for all your support! We Love You!
